LALILEE INSTITUTE

During the AUPF meet, Alif discusses co-operation with its partners. Galilee Institute has proposed to help Mauritius through Alif Society.

Alif transferred the proposal of Galilee Institute to the relevant bodies for action. So far, only Reza Badal, new Director of the Mauritius Oceanography Institute responeded.

Below is an exchange of correspondence.

Dear Friends Shalom from Galilee,
I trust that you and your families are well.
Following our correspondence, how do you suggest to proceed.
As written in my previous e-messages, we can develop training programmes in aquaculture as we cooperate with most African and Asian countries. In fact, we have now a group of 23 senior Indian officers and experts who arrived for an intensive 2-week training programme.
I look forward to develop joint programmes through which we will be able to share the Israeli experience,
Best Regards, Joseph

Dear Friends,
I discussed your e-message with our director of the agricultural center. We think that a training of a group of experts in the field of fishing, here in Israel, at our training center can create of group of experts who will train the farmer and the rest of the locals in the fishing industry. If you agree to this first step of cooperation, that is, TOT – training of trainers, we can prepare a plan and send for your review. We can continue to discuss the plan and once it is accepted, you can submit to the Prime Minister or the minister of agri/fishing.
Do you think we should proceed in this direction?
Best Regards to both of you, Yours, Joseph

Dear Dr Joseph,

I have been reading your e-mail with lots of interest. Concerning your plan for the fishing sector , I am aware that the Government of Mauritius is very keen to develop the aquaculture especially within our sheltered lagoon. There are possibilities for investment in this sector. For one you would need to put up a plan with our Board of Investment.

With regards to my own department, we more into hydrocarbon and mineral exploration. We are a frontier country in this area and are still working on the institutional framework and more on the upstream of things.

Let me hear from your insight, then I could probably have further suggestions.

Happy New Year.

Kind Regards
Rezah

Dear Friends Dawood and Dr. Rezah Badal,
Happy New Year from Galilee, Israel.
We hope to develop cooperation during 2016. Especially in aquaculture. As you might know, Israel has developed a very advanced fishing industry. We can share this knowledge.
We can prepare a preliminary proposed plan for training here of a group of experts from your country. Will it be possible to submit the proposed plan to the minister of agriculture or fishing?
Looking forward to working together and to receiving your reply,
Best Regards, Joseph
